Core Issues
Small Business + Farm Support
Our local businesses and farms are a vital part of our community economy. With continued rising costs and limited time, operating a thriving business has many challenges. As a small business owner I know that community support is key to success. I will support initiatives and programs that help our local farms and businesses thrive.
Housing Affordability
Home rental and purchase costs have gone up exponentially. The cost of running home has gone up with the cost of heating and cooling our houses is becoming a major expense. Affordability in housing is critical for a thriving community. I will work towards finding sustainable solutions to our housing crisis.
Tax Control
As Vermonters we are in the top ten of highest taxes in the country. Additionally our region has some of the highest taxes in the state. I will work to ensure that our taxes stay under control for our community. and will work to ensure we get the resources we need.
Education
As a trained educator and very proud aunt, I believe that having strong education is vital for youth development and overall community well being. I will work for sustainable education solutions that work for students, teachers, and families.
Support For Vulnerable People
Our community members that are older, lower income, LGBTQ, and/or people of color can face additional challenges in areas like education, housing, transportation, and healthcare. I will work to ensure that these individuals and families are supported in their needs.
Mental Health Care + Addiction Services
Like so many communities in Vermont we have folks struggling with their mental health and substance use disorder. These struggles quickly affect families and the community at large. I will support ongoing efforts to support those affected in finding sustainable mental health solutions for the community
Build our climate resilience
Our community faces many climate challenges with wet icy winters and higher potential for flooding than ever before. I will support initiatives like weatherization that will help create a strong climate resilient community.
